I’m trying to present a girl who, in a hospital, recalls her beloved that she has lost. I intend to make the special meaning of this picture understandable at the first glance, so that you are able to picture the sweet memories they have ever had. I use HairFarm and Hairtrix to make hair, which is interesting. The edge of the dress I use to make the Max Path Deform modifier.I use the smoke made fume plugin man, and finally in Photoshop of synthesis. If it’s alright,I want to try to use a Max particle system performance ghost effect.  —Yonglin Yao

Let There Be Nerds!

This scene is about a famous hollywood director, for whom I have a great respect. Based on a moment of his trajectory that changed everything.Legend tells late in the seventies, he signed a contract in wich he traded a high salary for merchandising rights of his characters. This single decision made everything he’s pursued ever since suddenly possible, opening the gates for a whole new industry. And ultimately lead to my passion for Computer Graphics, the way that it is.  —Mauricio Salgueiro

Mafia Man

I wanted to create style of an old man. Kindd Mafia Style! Here is the final image which I used zbrush to sculpt, resurface and paint the textures. I used a simple base mesh and turned it into dynamesh. The textures are hand painted in zbrush and Final touch on the textures done in photoshop and I used maya+Mental Ray. Also used photoshop to comp the layers and corrections.  —Siamak Roshani

Debut of King

My name is Vitalii Misiutin and am happy to to show my work “Debut of the King”. First I want to thank Javier Diaz. Javier offered me to show my work on his blog and now I’m here, thanks again!. I did this work in 2011 with Maya and 3Delight. the scene was separated into four main parts: the main object, object blur, the model of the king and backup objects. All these parts were rendered separately and were composed in Nuke. One of the pictures was rendered in Maya for 12 minutes with all the layers and passes (with a free license of 3Delight v.10.0.4) This version of 3Delight uses only two processor cores. The render time in Nuke was 46 sec. Please write your comments about what you think of the work, your opinion is very important to me.  —Misiutin Vitalii

Chaos Warrior

I am a big fan of Adrian Smith‘s work: recently I bought his book, and page after page I knew that I was looking at the source for my next 3D model. My main goal for this project was to make a single 3D static illustration as fast as I can, without caring about topology and cleanliness; also I painted and rendered it inside Zbrush, so I didn’t had to work on his UV and textures. The render has been made in a single pass using custom shaders, and in compositing I used only the depth pass to add a depth of field effect. For the final color correction and tweaking I used After Effects.  —Stefano Bernardi
